After receiving the medical copper tube demand letters from many medical institutions nationwide, such as Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center, The Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen, Foshan Emergency Treatment Hospital and so on, Hailiang responded positively and regarded this as a "military order". On the one hand, it gave priority to ensuring the supply demands of the epidemic prevention projects by allocating the existing resources within the company; on the other hand, it stepped up production lines to ensure the demands of the construction of national anti-epidemic projects for copper tubes by applying to the government departments for resumption of work.

Hailiang took the lead in drafting the industry standard Seamless Copper Tubes for Medical Gases and Vacuum in 2019. The drafting work has been completed and is being submitted for approval. The gases transported by medical gas tubes often acts directly on the patients, so they have strict requirements for cleanliness and toxic residue. The pipes used must be degreased strictly according to the regulations. Due to the risk of low cleanliness and large residual corrosion caused by degreasing with traditional cleaning agents, Hailiang specially customized the copper tube ultrasonic cleaning equipment, which can realize automatic feeding, cleaning, blowing, drying and automation in the whole process, so as to minimize the interference of human factors and ensure the consistency of the product performance. And the residue of carbon on the inner surface of the tubes should be strictly controlled within 0.02g/m2, so as to technically ensure the stability of the degreasing quality of the copper tubes.
